1.  BODY MUST BE STOCK APPEARING.  CARS MUST HAVE COMPLETE AND UNALTERED ASPHALT-STYLE TEMPLATE NOSE PIECE (SIDES OF NOSE PIECE MUST REMAIN INTACT BACK TO WHEEL OPENING), REAR BUMPER COVER AND TEMPLATE ROOF, ROOF C PILLAR, WINDSHIELD AND REAR WINDOW.  BODY PARTS MUST BE SECURELY ATTACHED.  ABC TEMPLATE BODIES WILL USE ABC (APPROVED BODY CONFIGURATION) DIMENSIONS AND CONTOURS (SEE ABC BODY OPTION).  AT ALL TIMES, THE ABC "A" MEASUREMENTS MUST MAINTAIN A MINIMUM LENGTH OF 11.5".  ALSO 20" IS THE MINIMUM LENGTH ALLOWED FOR THE NOSE, MEASURED FROM THE BOTTOM, LEADING EDGE AT CENTER, UP TO THE HOOD SEAM.

2.  ABC TEMPLATE BODY-ABC TEMPLATE BODIES THAT CONFORM TO ABC MEASUREMENTS AND TEMPLATES WILL BE PERMITTED (REFER TO ABC BODY RULE BOOK SUPPLEMENT).  REAR SPOILER OF 6.5" WILL BE PERMITTED.  

3.  WHEELBASE MINIMUM 102"  LEFT SIDE WEIGHT MAXIMUM 58%.  MAXIMUM ENGINE SET BACK...CHEVROLET 3", ANY OTHER ENGINE 4".  STOCK CLIP CARS/CRATE CARS ON SB CONVENTIONAL SETUP (SEE CONVENTIONAL SPRING AND SHOCK RULES) WILL WEIGH A MINIMUM OF 2700 LBS. STOCK CLIP CARS/CRATE CARS WITH OPEN SHOCKS, SPRINGS AND BUMP STOPS MUST WEIGH 2750 LBS. BEFORE FEATURE.

10.  THE AIR BOX BETWEEN THE NOSE AND RADIATOR MAY HAVE NO PIECES WIDER THAN THE RADIATOR.  NO TYPES OF UNDER-BODY AIR DEFLECTORS ARE ALLOWED.  ALL AIR FOR BLOWERS OR COOLERS IN THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT MUST BE PULLED FROM THE NOSE OR THE RADIATOR AIR BOX.  AIR MAY NOT BE BLOWN OR FORCED ONTO THE TIRE OR BEAD...AIR MAY ONLY BE DIRECTED TO THE BRAKE ROTORS.  


INTERIOR

ALL CARS MUST HAVE COMPLETE FIREWALL, FRONT AND REAR.  FRONT FIREWALL EXTENDING FROM THE LEFT SIDE FRAME RAIL TO THE MIDDLE OF THE INTERIOR FLOORBOARD IS REQUIRED.  IT MUST EXTEND UNDER THE DRIVER INCLUDING THE FOOT PEDAL AREA AND REAR FIREWALL DIRECTLY BEHIND THE DRIVER AND MUST BE AT LEAST 20 GAUGE STEEL.  THE REMAINING INTERIOR MAY BE ALUMINUM ( .025" MIN.).  INTERIOR SHEET METAL BESIDE DRIVER MUST RUN NO HIGHER THAN FROM THE SEAT CUSHION AT AN ANGLE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE WINDOW OPENING.  RACING SEAT REQUIRED, BOLTED/WELDED TO CHASSIS.  FULL CONTAINMENT HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.


FUEL LINES
MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED AND PROTECTED .  FUEL LINES RUNNING THROUGH THE DRIVERS COMPARTMENT MUST BE "AEROQUIP" STEEL BRAIDED OR EQUIVALENT.  NO ELECTRIC FUEL PUMPS PERMITTED.  ONLY STRAIGHT GASOLINE OR RACING FUEL IS PERMITTED.  NO NITRO OR ALCOHOL.


CHASSIS

FRAME TUBULAR MILD OR CHROMALLOY STEEL FABRICATED FRAMES ONLY.  MUST BE CONSTRUCTED OF AT LEAST .095" THICK.  MILD OR CHROMALLOY STEEL MEASURING AT LEAST 10" IN PERIMETER.  STOCK CLIP CHASSIS MUST BE APPROVED BY TECH.


ROLL CAGE

ROLL CAGE.   FULL ROLL CAGE REQUIRED WITH FOUR UPRIGHTS AT LEAST 1.625" O.D. WITH .0095" THICKNESS WELDED TO MAIN FRAME RAILS.  TOP OF CAGE SHOULD FORM A BOX AND FOLLOW THE CONTOUR OF THE WINDSHIELD IN FRONT AND REAR.  THREE DOOR BARS ARE REQUIRED ON DRIVER SIDE AND A MINIMUM OF TWO ON PASSENGER SIDE.  DOOR BARS MUST RUN BETWEEN FRONT AND REAR ROLL CAGE POSTS AND MAY NOT BE INSIDE FRAME RAILS.  GUSSETS SHOULD BE USED WHERE POSSIBLE.  BARS AROUND DRIVER MUST BE PADDED.  SFI SPEC 45.1 PADDING IS REQUIRED.  CAGES MUST BE APPROVED.    


SUSPENSION

ALL SUSPENSION MUST CONFORM TO THE FOLLOWING:  SWAY BAR OEM STYLE OR SPLINED END STYLE, FRONT SPINDLES MAY BE REPLACED WITH HEAVY DUTY AFTERMARKET UNITS.  MAXIMUM OF ONE SHOCK PER WHEEL IS PERMITTED.  NO CANISTER SHOCKS PERMITTED. NO TYPE OF AIR SPRINGS OR AIR SHOCKS PERMITTED. BUMP STOPS ARE PERMITTED.  NO STACKED SPRINGS.   WEDGE BOLTS ARE PERMITTED.  REAR TRAILING ARMS AND TOP THIRD LINK MUST BE STEEL OR ALUMINUM WITH ROD ENDS.  ( SOLID THREE LINK ONLY).  RUBBER BUSHINGS OR SPRING/SHOCK ACTUATED TORQUE ARMS AND BIRD CAGE TYPE SUSPENSION ARE NOT PERMITTED.  RACK AND PINION STEERING IS PERMITTED.  COIL OVER/SLIDER SUSPENSION SYSTEMS ARE PERMITTED.  UPPER AND LOWER A FRAME/STRUTS MAY BE FABRICATED AFTER MARKET.  


REAR END

FLOATER REAREND REQUIRED.  QUICK CHANGE PERMITTED.  ALL MUST BE LOCKED WITH SPOOL OR MINI SPOOL.  NO POSI OR LIMITED SLIP UNITS ALLOWED OF ANY NAME OR TYPE.  PLUGS WILL BE SOLD AT TRACK TO LOCK UNITS UP.  


BRAKES

BRAKES MUST BE IN GOOD WORKING ORDER IN ALL FOUR CORNERS.  FRONT AND REAR HUBS MAY BE REPLACED WITH HEAVY-DUTY AFTERMARKET HUBS.  ANY NON MECHANICAL TRACTION CONTROL DEVICE INTENDED TO LIMIT WHEEL SLIP IS PROHIBITED.


DRIVE SHAFT

DRIVE SHAFTS MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE 360-DEGREE SAFETY STRAP/LOOP DIRECTLY BEHIND FRONT UNIVERSAL JOINT.  


ENGINE

ANY DISPLACEMENT FACTORY PRODUCED V8 ENGINE WITH CAST IRON BLOCK AND CAST IRON OR ALUMINUM HEADS PERMITTED.   ENGINE CHASSIS AND BODY MANUFACTURE NEED NOT MATCH.  CENTERLINE OF CRANKSHAFT MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 10 1/2" TO GROUND PLANE. 


CARBURETOR 

LIMITED TO ONE US MANUFACTURED FOUR BARREL/TWO BARREL IF DESIRED.  


INTAKE MANIFOLDS

MUST BE OF ALUMINUM OR CAST IRON CONSTRUCTION.  

  

DISTRIBUTOR

ANY STOCK OR AFTERMARKET REPLACEMENT FOR STOCK DISTRIBUTOR MAY BE USED.  


IGNITION SYSTEMS

MAGNETIC OR MULTIPLE COIL TYPE IGNITION SYSTEMS ARE NOT PERMITTED. 

 

IGNITION CONTROL BOXES...(MSD BOXES) 

MUST BE MOUNTED IN CLEAR VIEW AND OUT OF DRIVERS REACH WHILE IN SEAT.  


IGNITION SWITCH

SHOULD HAVE "ON-OFF" POSITIONS MARKED AND WITHIN REACH OF THE DRIVER AND SAFETY CREW.


STARTERS/BATTERIES
ALL CARS MUST HAVE WORKING STARTER AND BATTERY.  ALL BATTERIES MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED. 


OILING SYSTEM

DRY SUMPS PERMITTED.

  

EXHAUST SYSTEM

MUST BE SAFE AND MEET APPROVAL.   EXHAUST PIPES MAY NOT PASS THROUGH DRIVERS COMPARTMENT.  EXHAUST PIPES MAY EXIT BELOW AND BEHIND THE DRIVER.  EXHAUST MAY PASS THROUGH THE LOWER THIRD OF EXTERIOR BODY PANELS.    INSTALLATION MUST INCLUDE AN EXHAUST FLANGE THAT IS MOUNTED FLUSH TO THE DOOR OR/ LOWER THIRD OF BODY.  PIPE MUST NOT PROTRUDE THROUGH DOOR/ LOWER THIRD OF BODY.


TRANSMISSIONS

TRANSMISSIONS MUST HAVE A MINIMUM OF TWO FORWARD AND REVERSE GEARS.  ALL CARS WITH A MANUAL TRANSMISSION MUST BE A WORKING, SPRING-ACTUATED CLUTCH.  NO HAND CLUTCHES.  DRIVE SHAFTS MUST HAVE AT LEAST ONE 360-DEGREE SAFETY STRAP/LOOP DIRECTLY BEHIND FRONT UNIVERSAL JOINT. 

 

FUEL CELL

A MAXIMUM 22 GALLON SFI APPROVED COMMERCIAL TYPE FUEL CELL BLADDER WITH FOAM INSERT REQUIRED.  CELL MUST BE MOUNTED IN TRUNK AREA, BETWEEN FRAME RAILS, WITH BOTTOM OF CELL NO LOWER THAN THE BOTTOM OF REAR END CENTER SECTION.  CELLS MUST BE SECURED BY A FRAME WORK USING A MINIMUM OF 1" SQUARE TUBING.  REAR PROTECTIVE BARS STRONGLY SUGGESTED.  


LEAD WEIGHT

LEAD WEIGHT MUST BE SECURELY MOUNTED, PAINTED WHITE WITH CAR NUMBER PAINTED IN CONTRASTING COLOR. 


RADIATORS
RADIATORS MUST BE MOUNTED IN FRONT OF THE ENGINE AND HAVE AN OVER-FLOW TANK OF NO LESS THAN 2 QUART CAPACITY OR HAVE THE OVER-FLOW HOSE DIRECTED UP INTO THE WINDSHIELD.  RADIATOR MOUNTING MUST NOT ALTER SHEET METAL.  NO GLYCOL BASED ANTI-FREEZE COOLANT PERMITTED.  ABSOLUTELY NO ANTI-FREEZE OF ANY KIND PERMITTED.  

PENALTY 
ANY CAR THAT LOSES ANY TYPE OF ANTI-FREEZE ON THE TRACK WILL BE FINED $75.00.
ANY CAR THAT LOSES LEAD WEIGHT ON THE TRACK WILL BE FINED $100.00.  (PLEASE BOLT ALL LEAD SECURELY).

MISCELLANEOUS
NO TRACTION CONTROL DEVICES ELECTRONIC OR OTHERWISE PERMITTED.  ANY USE OF TRACTION CONTROL DEVICES WILL RESULT IN IMMEDIATE DISQUALIFICATION AND SUSPENSION, LOSS OF ALL POINTS FOR THE SEASON AND ANY MONEY COMING FOR THE DAY/NIGHT.

PAINTING MUST BE PRESENTABLE.  NUMBERS MUST BE AT LEAST 18" TALL ON BOTH DOORS AND 4" IN UPPER RIGHT HAND CORNER OF WINDSHIELD.  CAR COLOR AND NUMBER COLOR MUST BE CONTRASTING TO EACH OTHER.

RADIOS/MIRRORS
NOT PERMITTED.

RACECEIVERS/TRANSPONDERS
MANDATORY.  
NO OTHER RADIOS OR CELL PHONES ARE PERMITTED IN CAR.

SAFETY EQUIPMENT
ALL DRIVERS MUST BE PROTECTED AT ALL TIMES WITH NOMEX SPI 3.2 A/5 FIRE SUIT, SEAT BELTS, SHOULDER HARNESS, HEADREST AND HELMET WITH A SA2010 OR LATER SNELL RATING.  SFI 3.3/5 GLOVES, SFI 3.3/5 DRIVING SHOES ARE MANDATORY.  FIRE RESISTANCE UNDERWEAR ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.  SHOULDER AND SIDE HEAD RESTRAINTS AS PART OF THE RACING SEAT ARE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.  SEAT BELTS AND HARNESS ARE REQUIRED TO BE A 5 POINT SYSTEM WITH LOWER CROUCH BELT (SIX POINT SYSTEMS ARE RECOMMENDED).   MOUNTING ATTACHMENT BAR FOR SHOULDER HARNESS MUST BE AT SHOULDER HEIGHT OF THE DRIVER AND HARNESS SHOULD NOT BEND OR CHANGE DIRECTION AS IT GOES THROUGH THE SEAT.  BELT SYSTEMS MUST BE A MINIMUM OF 2 INCH SFI APPROVED UNITS, DATED NO OLDER THAN 3 YEARS.  ALL CARS MUST HAVE A WEB STYLE WINDOW NET ON THE LEFT SIDE WINDOW OPENING WITH A SEAT BELT LATCH MECHANISM ON THE TOP FRONT CORNER.  NO CORD OR ROPE TYPE NETS PERMITTED.

FIRE EXTINGUISHERS
OF B OR C DRY POWDER OR EQUIVALENT MUST BE IN EVERY CAR AND BE EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO BOTH DRIVER AND RIGHT SIDE WINDOW WITH A QUICK RELEASE MOUNT IS MANDATORY OR AN ONBOARD FIRE SUPPRESSION SYSTEM.  EACH CAR SHOULD HAVE A FULLY CHARGED 10-13 LB. B AND C TYPE FIRE EXTINGUISHER IN ITS PIT AREA.

BODY TO BE MOUNTED IN CONVENTIONAL MANNER-NO RECESSED BODY PANEL, VENTS, LOUVERS, WRAPPED-IN-FENDERS, OFFSET QUARTER PANELS, ETC.   NO BUILT-IN-VERTICAL LIPS ON ANY TYPE BODY PANEL.  WHEEL FLARE(S) CANNOT EXTEND PAST SIDEWALL OF TIRE AND CANNOT EXTEND BACK PAST REAR OF TIRE, AND CAN BE NO HIGHER THAN ACTUAL QUARTER PANEL OF FENDER.


CHASSIS

FRAME TUBULAR MILD OR CHROMALLOY STEEL FABRICATED FRAMES ONLY.  STOCK CLIP CHASSIS PERMITTED (MUST BE APPROVED BY TECH).  MUST BE CONSTRUCTED OF AT LEAST .095" THICK MILD OR CHROMALLOY STEEL MEASURING AT LEAST 10" IN PERIMETER.  NO TIE DOWNS/FRAME OR SUSPENSION LIMITING DEVICES OF ANY KIND.  TECH OFFICIALS RULING IS FINAL.  

 

ROLL CAGE  

FULL ROLL CAGE REQUIRED WITH FOUR UPRIGHTS AT LEAST 1.625" O.D. WITH .0095" THICKNESS WELDED TO MAIN FRAME RAILS.  TOP OF CAGE SHOULD FORM A BOX AND FOLLOW THE CONTOUR OF THE WINDSHIELD IN FRONT AND REAR.  THREE DOOR BARS ARE REQUIRED ON DRIVER SIDE AND TWO ON PASSENGER SIDE.  DOOR BARS MUST RUN BETWEEN FRONT AND REAR ROLL CAGE POSTS AND MAY NOT BE INSIDE FRAME RAILS.  GUSSETS SHOULD BE USED WHERE POSSIBLE.  BARS AROUND DRIVER MUST BE PADDED.  SFI SPEC 45.1 PADDING IS REQUIRED.  CAGES MUST BE APPROVED.
